Intimate Reflections - For the Ladies

Ladies, let me ask me you a question. In relation to sex what is the most valuable thing you have physically? Allow me to offer up for your consideration that your womb is the most valuable thing you have physically. I know some of you were thinking your heart, and it is valuable, but the bible says “The heart is more deceitful than anything else, and incurable--who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17:9. Sometimes our heart, especially when we’re young, (between 18-28) can lead us astray. There will be times when our heart (emotions and desires) and our mind (logic and reasoning) will clash with each other. Sex is one of those things that our heart and mind will clash over; more specifically, who we decide to become intimate with. Think back to the time(s) where you found yourself attracted to a young man. He was handsome, smart, in shape, involved in different community events, etc. He was the type of man that you fantasized about, and soon you found yourself ready to have sex with him. After an enjoyable date, or in the heat of the moment, you gave yourself to him. A short time afterwards, you find out that you’re carrying life inside of you. You wanted the sex, but you may not have been ready for the pregnancy. To make matters more tense, you discover that your ideal man is becoming distant or completely ignores you (for whatever reason). This is just one scenario of many where you didn’t guard your womb. As it was stated earlier, too many guys unworthy of knowing you intimately and/or sexually are becoming the fathers of our children. Your wombs produce life that we both are held accountable for. Raising the next generation comes with responsibilities that we must be ready to fully accept. It also comes with consequences such as poverty, extended adolescence, unbalanced feminine/masculine psychosis, and unhealthy relationships that can be passed down to future generations. I fully understand why the bible says “Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life” Proverbs 4:23. Guard your hearts; sometimes that means guarding it from your own naive and unrealistic thinking. An unguarded heart can lead to an unguarded womb…and we know the outcome when that happens.
